Women concerned about safety have become more engaged in the implant choices once left to their doctors. This may be the reason that saline-filled implants were used in over 60% of the 399,400 breast augmentation procedures performed in the United States in 2007, according to statistics compiled by The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
